A case was filed against a local man and four to five unidentified others for vandalism, obstruction of government work, and assault in Narail’s Sadar upazila.
Narail Sadar’s Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer Md Abu Raihan, a native of Shyamnagar, Satkhira, filed the case. “Accused Md Jisanur Rahman vandalised my office and assaulted me. I filed a case,” he said.
Narail Sadar Police Station Officer‑in‑charge (OC) Ajay Kumar Kundu confirmed the filing.
According to the case statement, Jisanur, of Jodunathpur village, frequently entered the fisheries office on the third floor of the Sadar Upazila Parishad building demanding confidential information. When refused, he abused staff and allegedly smashed a government desktop and monitor.
Around 3pm on Sunday, Jisanur entered the office accompanied by four to five others.
Fisheries Officer Raihan said Jisanur had repeatedly harassed his office demanding allocations, though such decisions are made by committee.
When contacted, Jisanur denied the allegations, claiming the officer behaved discourteously, snatched and broke his phone, and that the computer was damaged during a scuffle. He alleged he was beaten and threatened with legal action.
OC Ajay said operations to arrest the accused are ongoing.
