A case has been filed in a Dhaka court against Shishir Manir, a candidate from Jamaat for Sunamganj-2 constituency and a Supreme Court lawyer, on charges of hurting religious sentiments.
On Sunday, lawyer Ridwan Hossain Robin filed the case as the plaintiff in the court of Dhaka’s Additional Metropolitan Magistrate Jashita Islam. The court accepted the case and ordered the DB police to submit a report to the court.
The allegations in the case state that approximately 91 percent of Bangladesh’s total population is Muslim. For people who believe in the Islamic religion, religion and religious rituals are an extremely sensitive matter.
Therefore, followers of the Muslim religion will never accept using fasting (roja) and worship (puja) together, even as an example. Rather, such an example will create disorder and anxiety.
