Argentine football legend Claudio Caniggia is heading to Dhaka, and four of Bangladesh’s leading bands are ready to welcome him with a special concert.
Titled Soccerama, the event will take place on 18 August at the United Convention Centre in the capital. Caniggia, who represented Argentina at three FIFA World Cups, will be the main attraction. He also played alongside football icons Diego Maradona and Gabriel Batistuta.
Bangladeshi bands Chirkutt, Artcell, Nemesis and Odd Signature will perform at the concert.
Chirkutt announced its participation on Facebook, describing Caniggia as an Argentine superstar who made his mark at the 1990 and 1994 World Cups. The band said it was excited to perform for the football icon and celebrate his contribution to the sport.
Nemesis also shared its excitement ahead of the event, calling it a special occasion featuring “a beloved person” and “beloved bands”.
Link 3 and Affordable Venture Limited are organising the concert, which will begin at 3pm.
The event will also give 100 lucky audience members a chance to meet Caniggia, speak with him, get his autograph and take photographs with him.
