The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) has directed all airports in the country to strengthen round-the-clock surveillance and security measures to ensure the safety of passengers and airport operations.
According to a circular issued by the CAAB headquarters on Tuesday, all airports have been instructed to ensure constant monitoring through CCTV cameras.
Security patrols across airport premises have been intensified, while monitoring and coordination mechanisms have been reinforced.
The letter also stated that necessary preparations have been taken to enable immediate action in case of any unexpected or untoward incident.
In addition, all airports have been ordered to deploy the highest possible number of security personnel. Fire surveillance and emergency response activities have also been enhanced to ensure prompt action during any emergency.
CAAB Assistant Director (Public Relations) Muhammad Kawsar Mahmud said, “Ensuring passenger safety remains our top priority. We have urged everyone to stay alert and to work in coordination with relevant security agencies in the public interest. In this regard, directives have been sent from the CAAB headquarters to all airports across the country.”
