Chief Adviser of the interim government, Muhammad Yunus, has congratulated, thanked, and expressed gratitude to Tarique Rahman, Shafiqur Rahman, and Nahid Islam for their significant contributions to making the election festive and peaceful by playing responsible roles.
In separate telephone conversations today, Saturday, he spoke with these leaders of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, and the National Citizen Party (NCP). During the discussions, the chief adviser stated that due to the moderation, restraint, and responsible conduct of the political parties, it was possible to maintain a festive and peaceful environment across the country surrounding the election.
Initially, the chief adviser spoke with Tarique Rahman and congratulated him on his party’s victory with a massive majority.
Later, the chief adviser thanked Shafiqur Rahman and Nahid Islam for their success and for playing responsible roles following the election.
He expressed hope that political parties will continue to play a similarly cooperative and positive role in the future to uphold the democratic process. He also called upon everyone to work unitedly to fulfill the expectations of the country’s people.
