Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus has congratulated National Citizen Party Convener Nahid Islam for the party’s performance in the 13th parliamentary election.

In a message issued on Saturday, he said the courage, firmness and self-confidence shown by the National Citizen Party (NCP) under Nahid’s leadership marked a significant chapter in the country’s democratic history.

The interim government chief described the NCP’s achievement as “extraordinary,” noting that the party was formed only a year ago in the backdrop of the 2024 student-led mass uprising.

He said contesting 30 seats, winning six and putting up strong competition in many others was a major feat for such a new organisation.
