BYD has opened a new showroom at Madani Avenue in Vatara, Dhaka, expanding its footprint in Bangladesh’s growing electric vehicle market.
The facility was launched through Otto Fix Ltd, a regional dealer partner of CG Runner BD Limited, the sole distributor of BYD in Bangladesh, the company said.
The inauguration was attended by Member of Parliament Shimul Biswas Pabna-5 and CG Runner Bangladesh Chairman Hafizur Rahman Khan.
The expansion marks a step to bring eco-friendly automotive technology closer to urban consumers, as Bangladesh pushes to increase the share of electric vehicles.
“Launching this showroom at Madani Avenue marks a significant step towards bringing eco-friendly and world-class automotive technology to the heart of Dhaka,” said CG Runner Bangladesh Chairman Hafizur Rahman Khan.
“CG Runner BD is playing a leading role in achieving the government’s target of ensuring 30 per cent electric vehicles by 2030.”
Member of Parliament Shimul Biswas said the country is at a turning point in adopting sustainable mobility solutions and emphasised the need to make advanced, eco-friendly vehicle technologies more accessible.
Otto Fix Chairman Md Lutfor Rahman delivered the welcome address, saying the showroom has been designed to offer a premium customer experience supported by a trained team for both sales and after-sales services.
The outlet will showcase vehicles equipped with electric vehicle and super plug-in hybrid technologies, including the BYD Seal, the BYD Sealion 6 described as the country’s first super plug-in hybrid model, and the BYD Atto 3.
The event was attended by senior officials of BYD Bangladesh, business leaders and other guests, who also toured the new facility.
BYD, a global leader in new energy vehicles, is known for its proprietary Blade Battery technology and is building a broader ecosystem in Bangladesh through CG Runner BD, including a nationwide charging network and modern service centres.
