BYD has launched three new energy vehicles — Seal 5, Seal 6 and Sealion 6 AWD — at a ceremony held on 17 May at International Convention City Bashundhara, expanding its presence in Bangladesh’s electric mobility market.
The Seal 5 is priced at Tk38.90 lakh for the first 500 units, while the Seal 6 is priced at Tk48.90 lakh and the Sealion 6 AWD at Tk71.90 lakh.
The launch featured product unveilings, presentations, media interactions and handover of 60 pre-ordered vehicles.
CG Runner BD Ltd Chairman Hafizur Rahman Khan, Managing Director Amid Sakif Khan, BYD Bangladesh Country Manager Charles Ren and Chief Marketing Officer Imtiaz Nawsher attended the event alongside BYD Asia-Pacific Auto Sales Division Deputy General Manager Ketsu Zhang.
Zhang said Bangladesh is becoming an increasingly important market in BYD’s global NEV strategy, adding that the new models integrate electrification, intelligent safety and sustainability technologies.
The Seal 5 plug-in hybrid sedan is powered by DM-i technology and Blade Battery, combining a 1,500cc engine with 154 kW output and up to 1,000 km range. It features ADAS, 360-degree camera, regenerative braking, vehicle-to-load capability and a 12.8-inch infotainment system.
The Seal 6 fully electric sedan offers up to 410 km range, powered by a rear-wheel-drive permanent magnet synchronous motor producing 95 kW and 220 Nm torque. It includes DC fast charging, ADAS, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and PM2.5 air filtration.
The Sealion 6 AWD plug-in hybrid SUV delivers up to 128 km electric range supported by a 1,500cc turbocharged engine. It comes with a 15.6-inch display, Infinity sound system, panoramic sunroof, ventilated and heated seats, seven airbags and ADAS.
Imtiaz Nawsher said the launch reflects BYD Bangladesh’s strategy to expand across hybrid, electric and premium SUV segments.
All models feature BYD Blade Battery technology and standard warranty coverage, reinforcing its long-term commitment to Bangladesh’s NEV market.
