SOS Children’s Villages Bangladesh and BSRM have signed a partnership agreement to strengthen family-based alternative care services for vulnerable, orphaned and abandoned children in Chattogram.

Under the initiative titled “Family House Support for Alternative Care Facilities”, BSRM will provide financial support for family houses at SOS Children’s Village Chattogram to help ensure education, healthcare, nutrition and safe accommodation for children, the organisations said in a press release.

The partnership was formalised through a memorandum of understanding signed at SOS Children’s Village Chattogram.

“Addressing the needs of vulnerable children requires collective action. This partnership with BSRM allows us to build sustainable support systems and unlock brighter, more secure opportunities for children who need them most,” said SOS Children’s Villages Bangladesh National Director Md Enamul Haque.

The organisations said the collaboration reflects a growing trend of partnerships between corporations and non-governmental organisations aimed at strengthening long-term child welfare and protection systems in Bangladesh.

SOS Children’s Villages Bangladesh has been operating in the country for more than 55 years, providing family-based alternative care, youth development, education and emergency support services for vulnerable children and families.

The organisation also received the Swadhinata Puraskar in recognition of its contribution to social development and child welfare.
