Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on Saturday foiled an attempt by India’s Border Security Force (BSF) to push 20 people into Bangladesh through Chouka border in Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj.
Lt Col Mohammad Tajul Islam Chowdhury, commanding officer of BGB’s Mahananda 59 Battalion, said BSF troops tried to move the group across the frontier.
Members of the Chouka Border Outpost (BOP) intervened and prevented the push‑in, he told UNB.
The 20 individuals remain inside Indian territory along the zero line, according to BGB.
