BRAC Bank PLC has trained 90 women entrepreneurs in Brahmanbaria, Habiganj and Moulvibazar under its flagship Amrai TARA entrepreneurship development programme, strengthening their digital business and enterprise management skills.
The bank conducted three three-day training cohorts throughout May in partnership with Bangladesh Open Source Network, with 30 entrepreneurs participating in each batch, according to a BRAC Bank press release.
Supported by the Gates Foundation, the programme aims to strengthen women’s entrepreneurial capabilities through practical training, mentorship, networking and market access, enabling them to expand their businesses and increase their economic contribution.
The training covered business planning, financial management, digital literacy, branding, marketing and customer engagement. Participants also exchanged practical business experiences with peers and resource persons to strengthen professional networks and support long-term business growth.
BRAC Bank SME Division officials attended the district programmes, including Sylhet Region Regional Head Md Monirul Islam and Brahmanbaria Territory Manager Md Tazul Islam in Brahmanbaria, Territory Manager Muhammad Rukan Uddin in Habiganj and Territory Manager Gautam Debnath in Moulvibazar.
Bank officials said the initiative reflects BRAC Bank’s commitment to expanding women’s economic participation through entrepreneurship development, adding that stronger women-led businesses generate employment, improve productivity and support local economic growth.
