BRAC Bank will host the fourth edition of TARA Uddokta Mela from 27 February to 1 March in Dhaka, bringing together 88 women entrepreneurs to tap peak Eid demand, the bank said ahead of the three-day fair.
The event will run daily from 10:00am to 11:00pm at Aloki Convention Centre on Tejgaon-Gulshan Link Road, according to a press release from BRAC Bank.
A total of 88 women entrepreneurs from across Bangladesh will showcase locally manufactured products, many from the manufacturing sector, the bank said.
BRAC Bank is providing stalls free of charge to enable participants to display products and widen their market access, it added.
The fair will feature boutique and hand-stitched apparel, handmade crafts, clay and jute items, leather goods, Jamdani and Muslin attire, organic skincare products, bamboo and rattan items and traditional foods.
Dedicated Iftar and dinner food courts, along with cultural attractions including Hawai Mithai and bioscope, will be available for visitors ahead of Eid, the bank said.
BRAC Bank is enabling QR code-based digital payments across all stalls, with customers offered discounts of up to 20 per cent on purchases made through QR during the fair.
Women entrepreneurs are key drivers of inclusive growth, said Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Tareq Refat Ullah Khan.
Through the fair, the bank aims to expand market access while preserving Bangladesh’s heritage and supporting women to scale up businesses, he said.
