BRAC Bank has signed a strategic knowledge partnership with BRAC Business School at BRAC University (BRACU) under FINNOVISION, the bank’s SME Innovation Lab, to develop solutions for cottage, micro, small and medium enterprises (CMSME).
The partnership combines BRAC Bank’s SME banking expertise with BRACU’s research capabilities to promote impact assessment, knowledge exchange and co-creation of scalable solutions for the CMSME sector. FINNOVISION focuses on four pillars: women entrepreneurship, smart agriculture, climate resilience, and formalisation of cottage and microenterprises.
BRAC Bank Managing Director Tareq Refat Ullah Khan said the bank has financed more than two million SME entrepreneurs and helped create over one crore jobs over the past 25 years. “This partnership with BRAC Business School reflects our ambition to go beyond financing by generating knowledge, fostering innovation, and developing scalable solutions that create lasting impact on entrepreneurship development,” he said.
The partnership aims to enhance FINNOVISION’s role as a collaborative platform for financial inclusion and sustainable economic growth in the country’s CMSME sector.
