Shukhee, a digital healthcare platform of Grameen HealthTech Limited, has launched a free 24/7 mental health counselling service for North South University (NSU) students, faculty and staff, allowing users to connect with qualified counsellors and psychologists through its Instant Psychologist service using their NSU-registered mobile numbers.
The initiative, introduced in partnership with the NSU Counselling & Wellbeing Centre, aims to expand access to virtual mental healthcare support for the university community. Users can receive confidential tele-mental health counselling sessions at any time of the day or night without any cost.
Dr Ahmed Armaan Siddiqui, CEO of Grameen HealthTech Limited, said in a press release that seeking mental health support should not involve fear of judgment or concerns over privacy.
“At Shukhee, we believe every conversation deserves compassion, confidentiality and respect,” he said.
Professor Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, Vice-Chancellor of NSU, said the service was designed to make professional support easier to access while ensuring complete confidentiality for students.
The service will be integrated with NSU’s existing Counselling & Wellbeing Centre support system and will cover mental and emotional challenges, including stress, anxiety, loneliness, relationship issues, and academic or workplace pressure.
Under the initiative, students, faculty and staff with NSU-registered mobile numbers can book 30–45 minute counselling sessions with qualified counsellors and psychologists through Shukhee’s Instant Psychologist service. Each session will remain strictly confidential between the user and the counsellor.
