In a bid to provide relief to consumers facing increased pressure from rising prices of essential commodities, Shwapno, the country’s largest retail chain, has introduced special discounts on a wide range of essential products.
The special discounts are available across Shwapno outlets on everyday necessities including milk powder, flour, cooking oils, salt, rice, lentils, vegetables, noodles, and detergent, read a press release.
According to the retail chain, the initiative has been launched considering consumers’ everyday needs and the prevailing market situation to ease financial pressure by creating savings opportunities on regularly purchased household products.
Under the special offer, a 500g pack of Fresh Milk Powder is available at Tk420 (after a Tk60 discount), while 1kg of Fresh Milk Powder is priced at Tk825 (after a Tk125 discount).
Additionally, 1kg of Pusti Plus is available at Tk800 (after a Tk150 discount). In the flour category, 2kg of Pusti Atta is priced at Tk95 (after a Tk35 discount), and 2kg of ACI Pure Atta is being offered at Tk105 (after a Tk25 discount).
Significant discounts are also being offered on cooking oils. A 5-litre container of Rupchanda Soybean Oil is available at Tk955 (after a Tk20 discount), while the 1-litre bottle is priced at Tk196 (after a Tk3 discount).
Meanwhile, 5 litres of ACI Nutrilife Rice Bran Oil is priced at Tk1,040 (after a Tk120 discount), and 5 litres of Fortune Rice Bran Oil is available at Tk1,050 (after a Tk160 discount).
For other essential food items, 1kg of Fresh Salt is available at Tk34 (after a Tk8 discount), while 1kg of Masoor Dal is offered at Tk90 (after a Tk10 discount). Loose Miniket Rice is priced at Tk55 per kg (after a Tk5 discount), and Jirashail Miniket Rice is available at Tk58 per kg (after a Tk14 discount).
Within the Dhaka Division, local onions are priced at Tk48 per kg (after a Tk7 discount), while potatoes are available at Tk25 per kg (after a Tk5 discount).
The discount initiative also extends to non-food household items. A 49g pack of WOW! Masala Instant Noodles is available at Tk99 (after a Tk76 discount).
In the laundry detergent segment, 1kg of RIN Power Bright is priced at Tk175 (after a Tk20 discount), 1kg of Wheel Clean & Fresh is available at Tk150 (after a Tk15 discount), and 1kg of Mr White Detergent Powder is being offered at Tk120 (after a Tk80 discount).
As part of modern retail, Shwapno emphasised that it places high importance on ensuring greater value and affordability alongside product quality and availability.
The organisation mentioned that it continues to introduce special discounts and offers at different times based on market conditions and consumer needs.
