Several years later, the auction system is returning to the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). This change comes after repeated requests from the franchises. The auction will take place on 30 November at a five-star hotel in the capital. Preparations are already in full swing. Every franchise is busy shaping its squad before the big day.
Each team could sign two local cricketers directly. They also had the option to sign at least one and up to two foreign cricketers. The teams used this chance very well. Dhaka Capitals moved quickly in the market. They secured Taskin Ahmed and Saif Hassan as their local signings. They also added two foreign stars. England’s Alex Hales will play for them. Usman Khan will join him in their overseas group.
Rajshahi Warriors, however, have not shared any official updates about their foreign signings yet. They have confirmed two local names. The team signed Tanzid Hasan Tamim. They also struck a deal with Najmul Hossain Shanto.
Rangpur Riders kept faith in Nurul Hasan Sohan. He will play for them again this season. The franchise also strengthened their squad with Mustafizur Rahman. Italy’s Wayne Madsen has joined the team as well. Talks are ongoing with David Malan, Kyle Mayers and Khawaja Nafay.
The new team, Noakhali Express, made a bright start. They picked Soumya Sarkar. They also brought in Hasan Mahmud. Kusal Mendis and Johnson Charles will play for them as their foreign choices.
Sylhet Titans built a balanced group. They signed Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Nasum Ahmed. They added Saim Ayub and Mohammad Amir to their overseas unit. Chattogram Royals made steady progress too. They selected Sheikh Mehedi and Tanvir Islam. They also secured Pakistan’s Abrar Ahmed.
