The Bangladesh Cricket Board has postponed and rescheduled two Bangladesh Premier League T20 matches originally set for Tuesday to observe a period of national mourning following the death of former prime minister Begum Khaleda Zia.
The fixtures between Sylhet Titans and Chattogram Royals, and Dhaka Capitals against Rangpur Riders, were called off earlier in the day. BCB director Iftekhar Rahman Mithu confirmed that both matches will now take place on Wednesday, with the first game starting at 3:00 pm and the second at 8:00 pm.
“Wednesday was initially planned as a rest day in the tournament schedule, but we felt it was appropriate to move the matches to that day in light of the national mourning,” Mithu said.
The rescheduling ensures that players and fans alike can pay their respects to Khaleda Zia while maintaining the flow of the tournament.
