Shahadat Hossain Dipu and Mahfijul Islam Robin hit half-centuries, while Rohanat Doullah Borson claimed five wickets as Bangladesh Emerging beat South Africa Emerging by eight wickets to reach the tri-series final at Tuks Oval in Pretoria on Sunday.
Chasing 170, Bangladesh reached the target in 38.3 overs to secure a comfortable win. Although their place in the final had already been confirmed, Bangladesh produced another strong performance ahead of the title clash.
Bangladesh will face South Africa Emerging again in the final at the same venue on August 12.
After winning the toss, Bangladesh captain Dipu chose to field first. Borson justified the decision with an impressive spell, finishing with 5-24 from eight overs as South Africa Emerging were bowled out for 169.
Chowdhury Md Rizwan provided the first breakthrough by trapping opener Ntando Zuma leg before wicket. Leg-spinner Aminul Islam Biplob then claimed two wickets before Borson took control of the innings.
The right-arm pacer maintained a consistent line and length and used the movement effectively. Four of his five wickets came through bowled dismissals as the South African batters struggled to score freely.
Bangladesh also lost an early wicket in the chase when Zakir Hasan was dismissed for 20 off 26 balls. Dipu then joined Robin and rebuilt the innings with a 115-run partnership for the second wicket.
Robin scored 61 off 99 balls before being dismissed with Bangladesh on 139. Dipu stayed unbeaten on 72 from 90 balls and guided Bangladesh to victory with 69 balls remaining.
The win gives Bangladesh another opportunity to finish the tri-series on a high when the two sides meet again in the final.
