Police recovered a bomb-like object from the entrance of a residence in Gangni, Meherpur on Wednesday morning.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team arrived at the scene at approximately 9:30 am and took the object into the custody of the police station.
According to Al Mamun, the Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) of Gangni Police Station, the object wrapped in black tape was discovered lying in front of the entrance to the home of Sanowar Hossain Palash in Tetulbaria village.
OC Al Mamun stated that an investigation is underway to identify the individual or individuals who placed the bomb-like object in an attempt to spread panic in the area. He further assured that necessary legal action would be taken following the inquiry.
