The 6th Bogura International Film Festival, organised by the Pundranagar Film Society, Bogura, begins on Thursday (January 8). The three-day event will run until January 10 under the slogan ‘Films for the youth, festival of the youth’.

A total of 74 films from 32 countries will be screened at this year’s festival. Screenings will take place at Madhuban Cineplex in Bogura and the auditorium of the District Shilpakala Academy. Although the festival is usually held in February, it has been brought forward to January this year due to the upcoming National Parliament elections and the month of Ramadan.

Festival director Supin Barman said that best film awards will be presented in seven categories. The competitive sections include International Short, Feature Film, Documentary, Animated Film, Open Door Short and National Film Competition. An Honourable Mention Award will also be given.
