The body of Dipali Begum, a migrant worker who was killed in an Israeli bomb attack in Lebanon, is expected to return to Bangladesh on Thursday.
State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam and acting secretary Ahmadul Haque will receive the body at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, according to the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment.
The Bangladeshi embassy in Beirut said Dipali was killed on 8 April in an Israeli airstrike while staying with her employers in the Hamra area of Lebanon’s capital Beirut. Her employer and his family members were also killed in the attack.
Reports said the entire residential building where she was staying had come under attack.
Dipali was injured in the strike and later taken to Rafik Hariri University Hospital, where she died while undergoing treatment.
Dipali Begum was the daughter of Sheikh Mofazzal and Rozina Khatun from Purbo Shalepur village in Charbhadrasan upazila of Faridpur.
