Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Thursday forecast a mild heatwave in the western regions of the country over the next 24 hours starting from 9am.
A Met office bulletin said this morning “Mild heat wave may sweep over the western part of the country.
It also predicted rain in different parts of the country.
“Rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind and lightning flashes is likely to occur at one or two places over Dhaka, Mymensingh, Chattogram & Sylhet divisions,” the bulletin added.
Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country.
Day and night temperatures may rise by 1-2 degrees Celsius over the country.
The highest temperature on Wednesday was recorded at 36.8 degrees Celsius in Rajshahi while Thursday’s minimum temperature was 19.7 degrees Celsius in Tetulia under Rangpur division.
The sun sets at 6.14pm on Thursday and expect to rise at 5.49am on Friday in Dhaka.
