Biman Bangladesh Airlines on Saturday launched its post-Hajj flight operations, welcoming returning pilgrims from Saudi Arabia at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport with flowers and holy Zamzam water.
The national flag carrier’s first return Hajj flight, BG336, carrying pilgrims from Jeddah, landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 10:35am.
Managing Director and CEO of Biman Bangladesh Airlines Kaizar Sohel Ahmed received the returning pilgrims at the airport. Deputy Managing Director and Deputy CEO Syed Moin Uddin Ahmed, Director (Customer Service, acting) Mohiuddin Ahmed, Executive Director of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport Group Captain S M Ragib Samad, along with other senior officials, were also present.
The returning pilgrims were greeted with flowers and bottles of holy Zamzam water. Pilgrims arriving on Saudia flights also received similar reception arrangements.
Biman carried 38,679 Bangladeshi pilgrims to Saudi Arabia this year through 98 flights. Under the post-Hajj return programme scheduled from May 30 to June 30, the airline plans to bring back around 39,650 pilgrims through 106 return flights.
The airline said it remains committed to ensuring safe, timely and quality passenger services throughout the Hajj return operations as the national flag carrier.
It also requested pilgrims and their family members to follow updates through its call centre, respective Hajj agencies and official website for the latest flight schedules and operational information.
