Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel have been deployed in Dhaka, Faridpur, Gopalganj, and Madaripur districts to strengthen security measures and maintain law and order.

The paramilitary force confirmed the deployment through a brief statement from its Public Relations Officer, Shariful Islam, noting that BGB personnel have commenced patrolling in these districts.

The Home Ministry authorised the BGB deployment as a precautionary measure to ensure public safety ahead of the International Crimes Tribunal-1’s expected verdict in a case concerning crimes against humanity against former prime minister Sheikh Hasina and former home minister Asaduzzaman Kamal.
