The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has been deployed in the capital and several strategic locations across the country to maintain law and order, control traffic congestion, and ensure a hassle-free journey for travellers during the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha.

According to the BGB, personnel will be stationed to carry out special duties in Dhaka’s New Market and the Elevated Expressway, as well as Nabinagar and Baipail in Savar, Gazipur City Corporation, and the Gazipur Chowrasta area, according to a press release.

In line with government directives to keep the Eid journey safe and seamless, BGB members will provide assistance to mobile court operations at critical toll plazas, highways, and areas vulnerable to traffic congestion.

The BGB announced that the deployment will begin seven days prior to Eid and continue for three days after the festival.

During this period, BGB will work in coordination with other law enforcement agencies to assist executive magistrates in conducting mobile court operations and to ensure smooth traffic movement and public safety throughout the busy Eid travel period.
