BFF Academy U-17 football team suffered a 1-0 defeat to Wuhan China U-17 in their third and final group match of the 2nd Tianyu Liufang Cup in Lijiang, China on Tuesday.
Despite the setback, the Academy side advanced to the quarterfinals after securing two victories in their opening fixtures. Their opponents in the next round will be confirmed once the remaining group stage matches conclude this afternoon.
The young Bangladeshi side went into the match full of confidence after an emphatic 8-0 victory over Sri Lanka Football Academy in their previous outing. However, Emadul Khan’s charges were unable to maintain their winning run and had to settle for a first defeat in three matches.
