The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has decided to increase the price of aviation jet fuel for the month of August.
According to a message released by BERC on Sunday, the price of jet fuel for domestic flights has been raised to Tk159.52 paisa per litre, up from Tk130.99 paisa per litre.
Additionally, the price of fuel per litre for flights has been increased from $0.8556 dollars to $1.0358 dollars.
This price revision follows previous adjustments made earlier this year. On 24 March, jet fuel prices increased by 80 per cent on domestic routes and by approximately 79 per cent for international flights, with prices raised again on 7 April.
Following those hikes, prices were reduced for May and June. For the month of May, the price of jet fuel per litre for domestic flights was reduced to Tk205.45 paisa from Tk227.8 paisa.
In June, the price for domestic flights was lowered further to Tk150.21 paisa per litre from Tk165.88 paisa.
