The Bangladesh English Language Teachers Association (BELTA) Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2026 was held at the RC Majumder Arts Auditorium, University of Dhaka. The event brought together members from across the country to celebrate a year of professional growth and collaboration.
According to the press release, the programme commenced with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by a welcome address delivered by BELTA President Professor Ahmed Bashir.
BELTA Advisor Professor Arifa Rahman also delivered a courtesy speech, setting a positive tone for the day’s proceedings.
During the formal session, BELTA General Secretary Dr Md Mohib Ullah shared the Annual Report for 2025–2026. This followed a presentation of the minutes of the previous AGM by Dr Kh Atikur Rahman.
The Financial Statement for the 2025–2026 fiscal year was presented by BELTA Joint Treasurer Md Saiful Islam Akon.
The meeting further featured presentations from Chapter Coordinators, who highlighted the activities and achievements of various BELTA chapters throughout the year. The event was anchored by BELTA EC Member Ms Tashrifa Fairuz.
The AGM concluded with a vote of thanks from BELTA Vice-President Md Takad Ahmed Chowdhury. He expressed gratitude to all members, organisers, and participants for their continued dedication to advancing English language teaching in Bangladesh.
