Police used baton charges to disperse a joint protest march by leftist groups near the chief adviser’s residence, Jamuna, on Thursday.
The march, organised by the Left Democratic Alliance, Anti-Fascist Left Front, Bangladesh JASAD, and the National People’s Front, aimed to oppose the leasing of ports to foreign companies.

The demonstrators were intercepted at Kakrail intersection in Dhaka, where police resorted to baton charges to break up the crowd.
The protest drew attention to growing concerns over foreign involvement in national port operations.
