Bank Asia PLC, in collaboration with Bangladesh Bank, has launched a month-long Entrepreneurship Development Program for small and medium enterprise entrepreneurs in Sylhet, aiming to strengthen business skills and promote employment generation.
The programme was inaugurated on 12 January 2026 by Bangladesh Bank Executive Director Khaled Ahmed of the Sylhet office, who attended as chief guest.
Bangladesh Bank Additional Director Md Nazrul Islam, who is also the program director of SICIP, and Bank Asia Head of Small Business Mohammad Saifuddowla were present as special guests. Bank Asia Zonal Head Sylhet and East Zone Md Nazmus Sakib presided over the inauguration.
The training has been designed to equip new and emerging entrepreneurs with essential business and management skills, enabling them to contribute more effectively to economic growth through enterprise development and job creation.
The programme is funded by the Asian Development Bank and is being implemented under the Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Program of the Finance Department, Ministry of Finance.
Officials said the initiative reflects a coordinated effort between the central bank and the private banking sector to strengthen the SME ecosystem by improving entrepreneurial capacity at the regional level.
