Leading digital operator Banglalink has recently distributed over 12,000 raincoats among rickshaw and van pullers across 10 city corporations during the ongoing monsoon season.
The distribution programme covered major urban hubs, including Dhaka, Gazipur, Chattogram, Khulna, Barishal, Rangpur, Bogura, Sylhet, Mymensingh, and Rajshahi, read a press release.
The initiative was designed to address the everyday challenges faced by essential daily earners, such as rickshaw and van pullers, who must brave heavy downpours with little support.
The operator said being a responsible brand is not limited to the expansion of its core connectivity services, but also means driving meaningful community impact by standing directly beside people in times of need.
“We often talk about putting people first, and this is what that looks like in practice,” said Kazi Mahboob Hassan, chief marketing officer of Banglalink.
“These workers keep our cities moving, often under the harshest conditions. A raincoat may seem like a small gesture, but it reflects our deep appreciation for their hard work and our commitment to their well-being,” he added.
Through proactive support during seasonal challenges, Banglalink aims to reinforce its broader ambition to foster inclusive growth and advance community welfare across Bangladesh.
The operator remains committed to integrating societal commitment into its overarching operations, ensuring that progress positively impacts every segment of society and makes a better life for all.
