Banglalink has launched a nationwide initiative to distribute Iftar items among commuters and travellers at major transit points during Ramadan.

The digital operator said in a press release on February 23 that the programme began on the first day of Ramadan and will continue daily until the end of the holy month.

Under the initiative, kiosks have been set up at 120 locations, including bus terminals, railway stations, river launch ghats and airport access points across the country.

Iftar will be distributed among people on the move who struggle to arrange food at the last minute while travelling.

Key distribution points include Mohakhali Bus Terminal, Kamalapur Railway Station, Syedabad Bus Terminal, Chattogram Rail Station and Cox’s Bazar Bus Stand, where thousands remain in transit during the call to break the fast.

The company said many commuters are delayed in traffic, workers return from long shifts and families navigate crowded stations and airport access points, forcing them to begin Iftar away from home.

Banglalink Digital Communications Limited Chief Marketing Officer Kazi Mahboob Hassan said, “Ramadan is a time that highlights empathy, generosity, and shared responsibility across society.”

“As cities grow busier and commutes become longer, many people remain away from home during Iftar,” he said.

“At Banglalink, being people first means recognising these everyday realities and responding with care,” he added.

“Through this initiative, we are offering Iftar items to those on the move, a small but meaningful gesture that reflects our commitment to stand beside people in real moments,” he said.

“Beyond connectivity, our focus is to remain relevant in the lives of our customers by supporting them with sincerity, respect, and compassion throughout their daily journeys,” he added.

Banglalink is a subsidiary of VEON, a Nasdaq-listed global digital operator, and operates digital platforms including MyBL, Toffee and RYZE.
