Two content creators, identified as Brishti and Azim, have been arrested in Bandarban under the Pornography Control Act, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has confirmed.
CID Additional Superintendent of Police Abu Taleb told TIMES of Bangladesh that the duo, also known by several aliases online, were detained on Monday as part of an ongoing drive against the production and distribution of pornographic content.
According to CID sources, the female performer first uploaded her video on 17 May 2024, and by mid-October this year, had released a total of 112 videos, collectively viewed over 267 million times on major adult websites.
Despite most Bangladeshi female performers on such platforms concealing their identities and faces, the pair reportedly appeared openly in their content.
Monitoring teams documented at least 50 social media posts referencing them in the first two weeks of October alone. As of 16 October 2025, the woman ranked eighth globally among performers on one of the world’s largest adult websites.
Police said the arrests were carried out following High Court directives to take action against those involved in producing or promoting pornographic material. A case will be filed against the two in Dhaka under relevant sections of the law.
