Pakistan chose to bowl first again after winning the toss in the second Test against Bangladesh at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Saturday.
Bangladesh handed a Test debut to opener Tanzid Hasan Tamim, who replaced the injured Shadman Islam at the top of the order. Tanzid earned his first chance in the longest format after making his name in white ball cricket.
Pakistan also made key changes to their side. Babar Azam returned to the playing XI in place of Imam-ul-Haq, giving their batting a major boost. The visitors also dropped Shaheen Shah Afridi, with pacer Khurram Shahzad coming into the team.
Pakistan captain Shan Masood once again backed his bowlers by choosing to field first, hoping to use the early Sylhet conditions.
Bangladesh will now look to make a solid start with their new opening combination, while Pakistan’s pace attack aims to strike early with the new ball.
