Adviser to the Prime Minister and Spokesperson of the Prime Minister’s Office, Mahdi Amin, has requested technical and institutional cooperation from France to expand third-language education in Bangladesh.
The proposal was made during a courtesy call by French Ambassador to Bangladesh Jean-Marc Séré-Charlet at the Prime Minister’s Office on Thursday, a PMO press release said. The discussion covered a range of bilateral interests, including education, investment, trade, technology, and people-to-people engagement.
Amin highlighted the government’s initiative to incorporate third-language education into the national curriculum, proposing French as one of the main options. He sought French support to create more opportunities for Bangladeshi students to learn the language.
The meeting also focused on strengthening economic and commercial ties between the two countries. Amin briefed the Ambassador on Bangladesh’s investment and business-friendly policies, urging leading French investors to explore opportunities in the country.
The French delegation included Florent Mangin, Head of the Regional Economic Department of the French Embassy.
