The ICC has announced the fixtures for the Women’s T20 World Cup, which will be played in England from June 12. The 12 team tournament will bring together the top sides in world cricket, including Bangladesh.

Bangladesh will play under captain Nigar Sultana Joty. While the men’s T20 World Cup Super Eight stage is going on without Bangladesh, the women’s team now prepares for its own global challenge.

The team comes into the event in strong form. Bangladesh won all seven matches in the World Cup qualifiers held in January. They stayed unbeaten through the group stage and the Super Six. That run helped them book a place in the main tournament and build confidence.

Bangladesh have been placed in a hard Group A. They will face Australia, India, Pakistan, South Africa and the Netherlands in the first round. Group B includes West Indies, England, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Ireland and Scotland. From the qualifying event, Bangladesh moved into Group A, while Ireland, Scotland and the Netherlands went into Group B.

The tournament will start at Edgbaston on June 12 with England taking on Sri Lanka. Bangladesh will play their first match on June 14 at the same ground against the Netherlands. It will be the first time the Dutch women play in a T20 World Cup.

The group matches will run from June 12 to June 28. The semi finals will be held at The Oval on June 30 and July 2. The final will be played at Lord’s on July 5.
