The remarks came as he interacted with students at BIAM Laboratory School, where his unannounced visit created a festive mood, according to officials.
“Alongside studies, you must engage more in sports. Playing helps increase intelligence,” said Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
Excited students rushed forward to greet him, with many shaking hands and others asking for autographs. The prime minister spent time with the children, exchanging smiles and brief conversations.
He entered a classroom and asked, “How are you? How are your studies going?” drawing cheerful responses from the students.
The importance of sports resonated with the children, who responded enthusiastically as he spoke. He also patted some of them on the head, further lifting their spirits.
Teachers present said the spontaneous interaction left a strong impression, as the prime minister engaged warmly with the students.
After spending some time, he waved goodbye. The students stood up and waved back as he left, ending the brief but lively exchange.
Earlier, the prime minister inaugurated the new training-cum-dormitory building of Bangladesh Institute of Administration and Management (BIAM) Foundation in Eskaton and later addressed officials at its auditorium.
BIAM was founded on 29 December, 1991 and later transformed into the BIAM Foundation in November 2002.
