Five suspected drug traders have been arrested with 6,900 yaba tablets in separate drives by members of the Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) in Dhaka.
During preliminary interrogation, the DNC learned that two of the arrestees were involved in bringing yaba from Cox’s Bazar to Dhaka, while two others were involved in supplying yaba from Dhaka to Tangail.
They were arrested during drives in the capital’s Motijheel, Kadamtali and Banani areas on 12-13 October. Five mobile phones allegedly used for drug transportation and trading were also seized.
The information was disclosed in a press release issued by the DNC on Tuesday night.
