King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain has conveyed deep condolences to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman following the death of a Bangladeshi national in a missile-related incident.
Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani telephoned Bangladesh Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman on Sunday night and formally confirmed that a Bangladeshi citizen died after debris from a missile launched by Iran struck him.
During the conversation, Al Zayani conveyed the condolences of the King to the Prime Minister and the people of Bangladesh, according to a Foreign Ministry press release in Dhaka.
The Bahraini foreign minister said his government has taken all necessary measures to ensure the safety, security and welfare of Bangladeshi nationals living in Bahrain. He added that authorities will continue those efforts.
Khalilur Rahman thanked the Bahrain government for its cooperation and support over the incident.
Earlier in the afternoon, the two foreign ministers also spoke by phone regarding the matter.
