Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan has directed members of the Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) to perform their duties with the utmost professionalism, neutrality, and freedom during the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election and referendum.
The BAF chief issued these instructions on Thursday during a briefing held at the C-130 Hangar of BAF Base Bashar in Dhaka Cantonment.
Addressing the personnel, he emphasised the necessity of conducting a fair and peaceful election and urged everyone to strictly follow the electoral code of conduct and directives issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Election Commission.
The 13th parliamentary election and referendum 2026 is scheduled to take place on 12 February.
To ensure a peaceful voting process, a total of 3,730 BAF members will be deployed under ‘In Aid to Civil Power’ to assist the local civil administration. Of this force, 1,250 members will be stationed in the field for 11 days, from 6 to 16 February.
These members will serve as a striking force in 35 upazilas across 21 districts, operating jointly with the Bangladesh Army.
To provide direct support for electoral activities, the BAF has placed a necessary number of helicopters, transport aircraft, and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) on constant standby.
The briefing was attended by Assistant Chiefs of Air Staff, senior officials from BAF Headquarters, and commanders from various bases.
