Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus has expressed deep concern over the shooting incident in which Osman Hadi, spokesperson for Inquilab Mancha and a possible independent candidate for Dhaka-8 constituency, was severely injured by assailants in the Bijoynagar area of the capital.

He stated that such violent attacks during the electoral process are completely unacceptable and extremely unfortunate for the peaceful political landscape of the country.

The chief adviser has instructed the relevant authorities to take all necessary measures to ensure that Osman Hadi receives the best possible medical care. He also provided necessary guidance to the Ministry of Health to closely monitor the treatment process.

At the same time, Yunus directed law enforcement agencies to carry out a swift and thorough investigation to identify and bring all those involved in the attack to justice.

The chief adviser called for immediate action to collect evidence from the scene, gather information from witnesses, review CCTV footage, and uncover any organized plans behind the attack.

Yunus emphasised, “Any form of violence aimed at disrupting the election will not be tolerated. Ensuring the safety of the public and the free movement of candidates is our responsibility. Whoever is responsible, they will be brought to justice.”

He called on all political parties, their supporters, and citizens to maintain peace and restraint, so that the upcoming election can be held in a peaceful, inclusive, and secure environment.
