Aryan Khan has revealed that he secretly dubbed for Salman Khan’s brief appearance in his breakout directorial project ‘The Ba**ds of Bollywood’. The young filmmaker, who has chosen to build his career behind the camera rather than follow his parents into acting, spoke about the unexpected contribution in a new interview.
The satirical series, which marked Aryan’s debut as writer and director, drew praise for its sharp humour, clever industry commentary and star-studded cameos. One of the most talked-about moments was Salman’s scene, although viewers may now be surprised to learn they were actually listening to Aryan.
Speaking to GQ, Aryan said, “Fun fact, in the show when Salman Khan says, ‘What party? Bullshit party’, that is actually me.” He explained that he stepped in to record the line while shaping the final cut of the episode.
Aryan also reflected on working with his father Shah Rukh Khan, who appeared in a self-aware comic moment that quickly became a fan favourite. According to Aryan, the atmosphere on set shifted the moment SRK arrived. “He is the easiest person to work with,” Aryan said. “He knows exactly what to do and how to do it. And when he is on set, everyone else behaves exceptionally well.”
With the success of the first season and a confirmed cast for Season 2, excitement continues to grow around the franchise. The next chapter is set to feature Bobby Deol, Lakshya, Sahher Bambba, Mona Singh and Rajat Bedi.
As for Aryan, he is keeping his future plans open. “I have two or three projects I want to develop, but nothing is locked in yet,” he said. “This year is about sitting down, writing and shaping whatever comes after.”
