Army Chief General Waker-uz-Zaman, cast his ballot in the 13th National Parliament election and referendum on Thursday morning.
The Army Chief arrived at the Dhaka Cantonment Board High School centre at approximately 10:15 am to exercise his franchise.
Speaking at a briefing after casting his vote, General Waker-uz-Zaman expressed his long-standing anticipation for a fair electoral process. “I have been waiting for this day, for a fair election. Alhamdulillah, that election is now taking place,” he stated.
The Army Chief further observed that a “very peaceful environment” was prevailing across the country. He noted that since the morning, conditions had remained favourable for voting.
“I have enquired about what is happening across Bangladesh. According to the information I have, the election is proceeding in a highly peaceful manner,” General Waker-uz-Zaman added.
