Actor Ananta Jalil has praised the title and concept of the upcoming film Gulshaner Chameli, saying the name itself is likely to attract audiences.

Speaking at the film’s mahurat ceremony, held at a five-star hotel in Dhaka on Saturday, Ananta said the title stood out for its originality and would generate curiosity among cinemagoers.

“Earlier, we used to see many videos about Gulshan. Now a film is being made using the name. Gulshaner Chameli is a beautiful title, and I believe people will be interested in watching the film because of it,” he said.

He also commended the creative team behind the project.

“I would like to thank the scriptwriter for coming up with such a title and the director for bringing this story to the screen,” he added.

Directed by MD Iqbal, Gulshaner Chameli revolves around the life and struggles of a sex worker.

According to the filmmakers, the project will feature a cast of popular actors from both Bangladesh and India.

West Bengal actress Madhumita Sarcar will play the lead role, marking her debut in Bangladeshi cinema.

National Film Award-winning actress Azmeri Haque Badhan has also been cast in a key role.

The film’s ensemble cast includes Omar Sani, Amin Khan, Ashish Khandaker, and veteran actress Rozina.

The mahurat ceremony officially marked the beginning of the film’s production and was attended by the cast, crew and invited guests.
