Amin Khan’s three-decade journey in cinema began with a signing fee of just Tk 1. The actor will complete 33 years in the film industry on 1 October, having made his big-screen debut with Mohammad Hossain’s ‘Abujh Duti Mon’ in 1993.
The modest signing fee initially left Amin somewhat disappointed. But once shooting began, director Mohammad Hossain offered him considerable guidance and support. Amin still remembers that early-career support with gratitude.
The actor recently opened up about several untold chapters of his life on the popular podcast ‘Behind the Fame with RRK’, hosted by Rumman Rashid Khan. The special episode will air simultaneously on Maasranga Television and Radio Dinerat 93.6 FM at 9pm on Saturday, 26 September.
On the podcast, Amin revealed that late filmmaker Sohanur Rahman Sohan had also signed him for a role in ‘Keyamat Theke Keyamat’. He chose not to discuss the matter in detail.
“I do not want to talk about films I did not work in anymore. Some people get hurt by it. I do not want to hurt anyone. I want to move forward,” Amin said.
After a long break from acting, Amin is now preparing for a new phase of his film career. He will soon appear in ‘Gulshaner Chameli’, directed and produced by Mohammad Iqbal. Recent reports confirm Amin’s return to the big screen with the film after a lengthy gap.
Although he reduced his acting commitments for a period, Amin said on the podcast that he now has fresh plans for cinema.
His journey, which began with a Tk 1 signing fee in 1993, now reaches its 33-year mark. After appearing in numerous films over the years, Amin is preparing to return to audiences with new work.
