The ambassadors of Sweden and Brazil to Dhaka have held meetings with Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman.
The two meetings were held on Wednesday morning at the Jamaat Ameer’s office in Bashundhara, accroding to a press statement.
The Ameer initially met Swedish Ambassador Nicholas Weeks at 10am. The ambassador inquired about Shafiqur Rahman’s health.
The meeting discussed the overall situation in Bangladesh, Bangladesh-Sweden bilateral relations, business and trade, and diplomatic progress. Both parties expressed optimism that the economic and development relations between the two countries would be further strengthened in the future.

Afterwards, at noon, Brazilian Ambassador to Bangladesh Paulo Fernando Dias Feres called on the Jamaat Ameer.
The meeting involved an open discussion on the mutual relations between Bangladesh and Brazil, cooperation, development, and various matters of mutual interest to both countries.
Accompanying the Ameer at both meetings were Jamaat’s Assistant Secretary General and Head of the Central Publicity and Media Department Advocate Ehsanul Mahbub Zubayer, Central Executive Council member Mubarak Hossain, and the Ameer’s Advisor on Foreign Affairs Professor Dr Mahmudul Hasan.
