Two more deaths have been reported due to dengue in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of fatalities in the first nine months of this year to 200.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) report, 490 new dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals during the last 24-hour period. The two patients that have died are from the Dhaka South City Corporation area.
Additionally, 138 – the highest number of hospital admissions – was reported from the Barishal Division.
In the same period, 100 patients were admitted in Dhaka Division, 78 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 64 in Dhaka South City Corporation, 60 in Chattogram Division, 28 in Mymensingh Division, and 22 in Rangpur Division.
Since the beginning of this year, dengue has claimed 200 lives.
Dhaka South City Corporation reported the highest number of deaths, with 95 fatalities. Barishal Division followed with 32 deaths so far. Other regions, including Dhaka North City Corporation, Chattogram, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Khulna, and Dhaka Division, have also seen casualties.
