Singer Shuvo Das, known for his appearance on Zee Bangla’s Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, has teamed up with contemporary singer Aishi Rakshit for a new Puja song titled ‘Agomoni’r Alpana’.
The song was unveiled at a cultural programme held at Theatre Institute Chattogram on October 14. Organised by Someswar Nrityaloy and presented by Shrutishikha, the event celebrated original Bangla music and its role in shaping social thought.
Written by Dr Ambarish Mitra, ‘Agomoni’r Alpana’ features music composed by Shuvo Das. Malay Kumar Indu Mukesh and Anujit Barua Limon handled the musical arrangement.
Both singers performed at the launch, alongside dance presentations by artistes from Someswar Nrityaloy.
The programme featured Dainik Azadi editor MA Malek as chief guest, while writer and journalist Biswajit Chowdhury and Azim Group director Anup Baran Das attended as special guests. Musician Riaz Waez chaired the event.
Speakers stressed the importance of creating original Bangla songs, noting that music can influence society and help Bengali musical traditions reach wider audiences.
They also highlighted how songs from earlier generations continue to resonate despite changes in listening habits.
