As part of the Devil Hunt Phase-2 operation, district Detective Branch (DB) police arrested Ananda Kumar Saha Anu (48), organising secretary of the Manikganj municipal Awami League.
The district Detective Branch confirmed the arrest through a press release around 2pm on Friday.
Earlier, on Thursday, a DB police team arrested him from the town area under Manikganj Sadar Police Station.
The arrested Ananda Kumar Saha is the son of Shibu Saha of the Purba Dashra area of the municipality. He was serving as the organising secretary of the municipal Awami League.
Confirming the arrest, district Detective Branch Inspector Mohammad Rafiqul Islam said he was arrested as part of the Devil Hunt Phase-2 operation, adding that further legal proceedings are under way.
