Ajay Devgn’s team has clarified that the Juhu property recently subject to partial demolition by Mumbai’s civic authorities is not the actor’s residence but a separate property that has been rented out, writes Hindustan Times.
The clarification came after the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) took action over alleged unauthorised construction at the property. In a statement, the actor’s representatives said they had applied for the necessary permissions and were complying with the civic body’s rules.
“The necessary changes, alterations and modifications, as required by the BMC, have been carried out,” the statement said.
The property, measuring around 7,802 square feet, is located in Kapol Co-operative Housing Society and is owned by Devgn and his mother, Veena Devgn. The BMC issued a notice on 10 September, alleging that alterations had taken place without the required approvals.
In an order dated 6 October, the civic body rejected the owners’ response, stating that they had not submitted documents establishing the legality of the construction. It subsequently directed the removal of the work deemed unauthorised.
The property had reportedly been proposed for commercial use as a salon and spa, prompting concerns among residents about traffic, parking and security.
Devgn has several projects lined up, including ‘Golmaal 5’, ‘Ranger’ and ‘Chauhaan’
